You won't find it on the Globe and Mail's bestsellers list, but by County standards, Steve Campbell's got a runaway hit on his hands with The County Handbook.
Released before Christmas and already into its second printing, copies are flying off the shelves even before the start of the tourist season.
So what's the buzz all about? Last year, Steve -- who is publisher of County Magazine -- wrote a series of articles for the County Weekly News presenting his frank perspective on what he terms a "culture clash" between lifelong Prince Edward residents and the growing influx of city people deciding to move to the County. Reader response was swift, vocal and emotional.
Now, Steve has emerged intact from his bunker with The County Handbook, taking a lighter and more humourous approach to the same "culture clash" issue, by counselling the urban newcomers on how to survive their move to the County.
Janet joined Steve for a gabfest at Carruthers in Bloomfield, while owner and resident chocolatier, Wayne Carruthers, rushed by with tray after tray of freshly-made chocolate creations in preparation for a busy St. Valentine's Day.
